Indian Poltical League

Similar to IPL (Indian premier league) the political league of India consists of eight major parties UPA,NDA,THIRD FRONT,BSP, SP, AIDMK,PRP,RJD. Obviously these are not the only political parties in the country , there are atleast three regional parties for each state, so I had to narrow it down to the eight major ones (space constraints).

Andhra pradesh where the present government(Cong) in all likelihood will get close to 25 MP seats owing to the good performance of CM Rajasekhar reddy.The PRP party and TDP will win 7,10 MP seats respectively.

In Maharashtra the opposition parties are in self destruction mode, so Cong with NCP will do marginally better than NDA.

In Kerela as always the balance of power will shift from one party to other(LEFT to Cong).

In Tamil Nadu the UPA is going to lose as AIDMK is going to sweep the elections going by the trend.

In Bihar the NDA will fare better than Congress thanks to the clean image of chief minister Nitish Kumar.

In MP the BJP and Congress will share the spoils because of the anti-incumbency factor on BJP.

In Chattisgarh the NDA will have a upper hand because of the development activities by Raman singh.

In West Bengal Trinamool Cong will fare better than last time.

Congress looks like it has an upper hand in Rajasthan because of the political unrest in the BJP cadre.

In Karnataka the BJP has an upper hand over Cong because of the division of vote among opposition parties.

In Gujarat there is no one stopping Iron man Narendra Modi.

In Delhi it looks like congress all the way, the BJP are in shambles right now.

Last but not least lets talk about UP, the largest state with 80 MP's. The irony is that both BJP and Congress(largest parties) wont factor much in the number of seats. The two parties to look forward to is BSP, SP.The BSP are on a high as they have recently swept the assembly elections. So my guess would be Mayawati will win 45-50 seats in UP.

UPA has a good chance of becoming the single largest party during the 2009 general elections.The chance of it forming the government is slim.


By the look of things its going to be coalition politics all the way for 15th Lok sabha elections.If Mayawati can manage 55-60 seats , there is a chance she could be the CM with external support from BJP.
